Bodh Gaya (India) - a Holy Site of Buddhism

(by Towel) Bodh Gaya or Bodhgaya is a city in Gaya district, Bihar, India. This is where the Buddha was enlightened under the Bodhi tree.

For Buddhists, Bodh Gaya is the most important of the main four pilgrimage sites related to the life of Gautama Buddha, the other three being Kushinagar, Lumbini, and Sarnath. In 2002, Mahabodhi Temple, located in Bodh Gaya, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

My visit to Bodh Gaya took place this 2012 New Lunar Year, together with the Diplomatic Corps of Vietnam in India.
